OneVillage Partners Executive Director Resigns
I am writing to you today with bittersweet news. I am resigning my position as Executive Director of OneVillage Partners at the end of this month. Initiating this transition was not easy, given my deep commitment to OVP’s unique approach, but my partner and I just became engaged, and we have decided to move abroad to begin a new journey together.
I am most grateful for you, as someone who has made this work possible. For over four years, I have worked alongside you, and together we have grown OVP from serving 3,500 people to, just next month, 14,000 people. I have seen OVP transform from a small, mostly volunteer operation into an established nonprofit with a bold vision for doing international work differently. I’ve seen lives and villages transformed.
To ensure a smooth transition, I have been working with the OVP Board over the last couple of weeks. I leave the organization with strong plans in place, a solid Board of Directors, and amazing staff.
Thank you for your warm hospitality in Minneapolis, and I hope you will maintain your commitment to Sierra Leone in the years to come!
Dear OneVillage Partners Friends and Supporters,
With regret, we have accepted Deborah’s resignation. We wish her luck as she begins the next phase of her life with her fiancé overseas.
Deborah has been a terrific Executive Director these last 4+ years, and we are forever grateful for her work to help focus the OVP vision, hire excellent staff in Sierra Leone and Minneapolis, and complete a 3-year OVP Strategic Plan.
OneVillage Partners has never been stronger, nor has our commitment to eliminating extreme poverty been more urgent. We have a world-class Board and staff that will keep us on our mission during this transition, because our top priority is always the success of our village friends. We look forward to finding the next amazing leader for OVP, as we stretch to partner with thousands of new villagers as part of our strategic plan for growth over the next few years.
The OVP Board has established a Search Committee that will lead the process of hiring our next Executive Director. We have posted the job description on our website. If you know any talented, non-profit leaders, please share our website with them!
