    Position Description:

    With a small support staff in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA, the organization is currently building its team in Sierra Leone to aid in its expansion of its programs.

    OVP is seeking a full-time Program Manager for our Nurturing Opportunities for Women (NOW) program in Bunumbu Sierra Leone. NOW is a financial literacy and women’s empowerment program offered through an innovative picture-based, interactive method to reach low-literacy women to unleash their natural ability to set, plan, and achieve financial and life goals. The Program Manager will have the opportunity to work directly with women’s groups, to build and develop the program, and manage the NOW program staff.  The person will be a strategic thought-partner, a member of the Sierra Leone Management Team and report directly to the Country Director (CD). This position’s primary responsibility is to ensure the effectiveness and positive impact of the NOW program. He/she will develop curriculum, monitor program progress and prepare regular reports. The successful candidate will be a hands-on participatory manager that will lead and develop the NOW team to expand the program into new villages.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

    Specific Duties and Responsibilities

    1. Program Development and Quality (25%)
    • Develop and manage M&E plans
    • Adapt current curriculum and program support to the needs of the participants
    • Assist with curriculum development for phase 2 and 3 of the NOW program
    1. Staff Supervision, Coaching and Development (25%)
      • Conduct training needs assessments for program staff
      • Coordinate staff trainings
      • Approve and monitor individual work plans
      • Manage annual staff evaluations
      • Assist with weekly and monthly staff meetings
    2. Documentation, Learning and Reporting (20%)
      • Document best practices, lessons learned and success stories
      • Complete monthly program reports
      • Facilitate regular program debriefing sessions
    3. Financial Management and reporting (20%)
      • Manage project expenditure in line with approved budgets
      • Develop annual program budgets
      • Assist with the preparation of financial reports
    4. Planning and Coordination (10%).
      • Represent the project to local stakeholders
      • Develop annual operational and strategic plans
      • Develop monthly activity plans and oversee their implementation
      • Facilitate NOW Program staff meetings and debriefs

    Preferred Skill Sets and Qualifications:

    Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications

    • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree, a masters an advantage
    • At least 5 years of overall professional experience in a related field with a minimum of 2 years of experience managing programs and supervising staff, preferably for a non-profit.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and ease in computer based tasks
    • Excellent written and spoken English language ability and communication skills
    • Strong writing and documentation skills.
    • High level of financial acumen  and experience creating and managing a variety of budgets
    • Specialized knowledge and experience with savings group programming, managing finances and or microfinance groups
    • Experiential learning background and understanding
    • Curriculum development and training experience

    Fundraising Research Intern

    Position Description:

    Young, exciting international nonprofit seeks energetic, self-motivated, and passionate candidate for a part-time fundraising research internship in Minneapolis. The role primarily involves high-level research on individuals, corporations, and foundations using a wide variety of sources, including online database, Internet websites, library and government sources and other external repositories of public information. Intern will work with and report to OVP Executive Director. Intern will also work with Director of Development and Director of Operations.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

    Working approximately 10 hours per week for a minimum of three months, the Fundraising Research Intern will perform the following duties:

    1. Grants Research: Identify sources of grant opportunities using creativity and online searches.
    2. Donor Research: Use a broad spectrum of sources to research, organize, and evaluate  prospects
    3. Communications: Produce well-written reports and conduct briefings for the development team
    4. Strategy: Consider new research techniques and propose additional research methodologies
    5. Database Management: Organize and maintain information files
    6. Other: Provide general support and work on special projects when needed

    Preferred Skill Sets and Qualifications:

    • Analytical skills to initiate and perform complex analyses and organize information
    • Self-motivated, organized and detail-oriented; ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive information
    • Clear written and oral communication skills
    • Creative thinking ability; ability to learn quickly

    Preferred Technical Expertise:

    • Experience with DonorPerfect or other client management software, preferred

    Administrative Assistant Intern

    Position Description:

    The Administrative Assistant Intern is responsible for supporting the Director of Finance and Operations in ensuring that the organization’s main office runs smoothly.

    The Administrative Assistant Intern position is a minimum six month commitment with OneVillage Partners.  Interns are expected to work 10-25 hours a week, during regular office hours.  As the OVP team is relatively small, applicants must be comfortable working with a close-knit group in a casual and dynamic atmosphere. This internship can receive course credit.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

    Working 10-25 hours per week, the Administrative Assistant supports all aspects of OneVillage Partners’ operations in the U.S. Duties include, but are not limited to:

    • Take meeting minutes
    • Create Word documents and Excel spreadsheets
    • Conduct web searches
    • Assist with systemization of database
    • Maintain paper and electronic files
    • General clerical duties, such as scanning, copying and mailing
    • Assisting at events, as needed
    • Other tasks as requested

    Preferred Skill Sets and Qualifications:

    Events Photographer Volunteer

    Position Description:

    Throughout the year, OVP has opportunities to share our work at formal events and house parties. We are looking for a volunteer who will play the important role of capturing the highlights for us to share in our newsletters (print and online) and social media.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

    Working 2-4 hours per event to capture the highlights. Our next event will take place on Wednesday, October 21.

    1. Experience photographing events
