    Position Description:

    The Administrative Assistant Intern is responsible for supporting the Director of Finance and Operations in ensuring that the organization’s main office runs smoothly.

    The Administrative Assistant Intern position is a minimum six month commitment with OneVillage Partners.  Interns are expected to work 10-25 hours a week, during regular office hours.  As the OVP team is relatively small, applicants must be comfortable working with a close-knit group in a casual and dynamic atmosphere. This internship can receive course credit.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

    Working 10-25 hours per week, the Administrative Assistant supports all aspects of OneVillage Partners’ operations in the U.S. Duties include, but are not limited to:

    • Take meeting minutes
    • Create Word documents and Excel spreadsheets
    • Conduct web searches
    • Assist with systemization of database
    • Maintain paper and electronic files
    • General clerical duties, such as scanning, copying and mailing
    • Assisting at events, as needed
    • Other tasks as requested

    Preferred Skill Sets and Qualifications:

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Administrative experience preferred
    • Written and oral communication skills
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Ability to work independently
    • Energy, enthusiasm, and innovation in problem solving.
    • Understanding of computer programs and software including Microsoft Word and Excel, Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, and experience in conducting internet research.
      Preferred Education and Experience:
    • Experience in database management or finance.
    • Understanding of or experience with QuickBooks and Donor Perfect.

    OneVillage Partners is a Minneapolis-based nonprofit dedicated to holistic rural development in Sierra Leone. OneVillage Partners works for improved quality of life through increased income in rural villages in Sierra Leone, West Africa. OneVillage utilizes a business approach to solve extreme poverty and is interested in developing a model for comprehensive development that can create middle income self-sufficiency in rural Sierra Leone.
