Together Women Rise with OneVillage Partners
We are delighted to announce Together Women Rise as our newest grant partner! Together Women Rise has committed to provide a grant to support the Nurturing Opportunities for Women (NOW) program in 2021.
Together Women Rise is a powerful community of women and allies dedicated to achieving global gender equality. With hundreds of local chapters across the U.S. where members learn about and advocate for gender equality issues, Together Women Rise gives grants to organizations that empower women and girls in low-income countries, and build community to forge meaningful connections that increase our strength and collective impact.
The NOW program is an entirely picture-based curriculum that empowers women with the skills and tools to manage their household finances, to develop and run a profitable business, and to increase their participation in household and community-level decision making. While only 30% of program participants have a savings fund before the NOW program, by the end of the program, 90% of graduates have a savings fund. In 2021, there are 120 women participating in NOW: Strengthening Household Finances and 120 participants in NOW: Improving Income through Business Skills. Currently, we are developing a pilot for a third phase of the program, which will build upon the skills learned in the first two phases of the program and give women tools and training to development agriculture-based businesses.
